Before Call the Midwife season 13<\/a> arrived on our screens, Stephen McGann, who plays Dr Patrick Turner, told RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press that \u201c things come back to haunt the Turners<\/a>, and there\u2019s a lot of real drama there\u201d.<\/p>\n

And in tonight\u2019s episode (Sunday 4th February), the fallout from May\u2019s near-drowning during a trip to the seaside saw that ominous teaser take shape.<\/p>\n

Despite providing a loving home for May and raising her as their own, Shelagh and Dr Turner received some concerning news from a member of the Hong Hong adoption project.<\/p>\n

Following Miss Williams\u2019s initial visit, which was merely a formality, they were asked to go into her office, where they were informed that May\u2019s biological mother \u201chas questions\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat questions does she have?\u201d asked an exasperated Dr Turner.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe asked why May was alone when this incident occurred,\u201d said Miss Williams of the accident, which resulted in May being rushed into hospital due to water aspiration.<\/p>\n

And Miss Tang also referenced another incident which required May to have stitches in her foot.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo years ago!\u201d said Dr Turner. \u201cShe had a playground accident, as any child might.\u201d<\/p>\n

But regardless, she was unconvinced.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought my daughter would be more safe with them, not less,\u201d said Miss Williams, relaying Miss Tang\u2019s words.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s now a possibility that May could be \u201cmoved to an environment in which her mother has more confidence\u201d, with an \u201congoing, formal review of the environment\u201d to be put in place.<\/p>\n
If Miss Tang is not satisfied, the child could find herself in a new home.<\/p>\n
