The BBC Breakfast presenter is one of 15 celebs taking to the dancefloor for the 2021 series. <\/p>
BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker has revealed that his co-host Louise Minchin inspired him to take part in this year\u2019s series of Strictly Come Dancing<\/a>.<\/p>\n Walker is one of the 15 celebrities set to take to the dance floor for this year\u2019s series and it seems that Louise \u2013 who recently presented her final BBC Breakfast show \u2013 played an instrumental part.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve learned from Louise, my sort of breakfast partner, that it\u2019s good to do stuff that sort of makes you feel a bit uncomfortable or scares you, every now and again,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n \u201cI think I\u2019ve always been somebody who doesn\u2019t want to be comfortable all the time and I think it\u2019s good to be tested and put under some pressure and feel that natural adrenaline.\u201d<\/p> He added that Louise had been \u201cvery surprised\u201d when it was revealed that he would be taking part.<\/p>\n \u201cBasically, it was a bit of a shock because I have spoken to her about that, but she was told it was definitely not me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n But Dan added that she was \u201creally excited\u201d about seeing him on the show \u2013 and it looks like he can rely on plenty of support from his Breakfast presenting team \u2013 several of whom have competed for the Glitterball in previous series.<\/p>\n \u201cI know that Naga (Munchetty), Carol (Kirkwood), and Ore (Oduba) and a lot of people who\u2019ve been on the show really enjoyed it, and they\u2019ve all been lovely with their advice, and they are fully supportive and hopefully I won\u2019t let the breakfast team down!\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Fans will soon find out which of the\u00a0Strictly Come Dancing professionals<\/a> will be partnered with Dan as the full roster of couples is set to be revealed on this weekend\u2019s opening show.<\/p>\n Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday 18th September.
