Netflix is adding another documentary to its long list, with the subject this time being Ra\u00ebl \u2013 a former journalist who founded and leads the Ra\u00eblian Movement, an international UFO religion.<\/p>\n
The documentary features interviews with followers, critics and Ra\u00ebl himself, as it traces how the UFO-inspired religion \u201cspiralled into a controversial cult<\/a>\u201c.<\/p>\n This series joins a long library of cult documentaries, with others including Escaping Twin Flames and Waco: American Apocalypse.<\/p>\n With Ra\u00ebl: The Alien Prophet available to stream on Netflix<\/a>, here\u2019s everything we know about where the leader of the Ra\u00eblian Movement is now.<\/p>\n Ra\u00ebl, who was born as Claude Maurice Marcel Vorilhon, is a French sports car journalist who founded and leads the Ra\u00eblian Movement, an international UFO religion.<\/p>\n Born in France, Ra\u00ebl ran away from boarding school when he was 15 years old and hitchhiked to Paris, where he spent years playing music on the streets and in cabarets.<\/p>\n It was there where he met Lucien Morisse, the director of Europe 1, who had been scouting for young talent.<\/p>\n Ra\u00ebl became a teen pop sensation, under the name of Claude Celler, and years later he opted to work as a sports journalist.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n In 1973, it is claimed<\/a> Ra\u00ebl was visited by an alien who told him that he had come to Earth to meet Ra\u00ebl.<\/p>\n Ra\u00ebl said he was given a message by the alien, and that it was his mission to pass this message on to the people of this planet.<\/p>\n A year later, Ra\u00ebl devoted himself to completing the task that had been asked of him, and later founded the International Ra\u00eblian Movement.<\/p> Ra\u00eblianism is the teaching that extraterrestrial specials created humanity using advanced technology.<\/p>\n In more recent years, ex-Ra\u00eblians<\/a> have accused Ra\u00ebl of plagiarism, comparing passages from his books with those of Jean Sendy, with some Ra\u00eblian concepts reportedly being found in Sendy\u2019s books<\/a>.<\/p>\n While these allegations are public, Ra\u00ebl has never elected to respond.<\/p>\n As of 2024, Ra\u00ebl is 77 years old and is still alive<\/strong>.
