Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo has shared what he thinks would make Netflix<\/a>\u2018s sci-fi hit \u201cso much better\u201d \u2013 but it wouldn\u2019t bode well for the Hawkins gang we\u2019ve come to know and love.<\/p>\n

The actor, who plays Dustin in the juggernaut series, appeared at MegaCon Orlando alongside co-star Finn Wolfhard (Mike) and season 4 guest star Grace Van Dien (who played the ill-fated Chrissy Cunningham).<\/p>\n

Matarazzo joked that he couldn\u2019t legally say much about the upcoming episodes beyond the fact that \u201cwe\u2019re making it\u201d, but did offer his honest opinion on one aspect of the show he would change if given the chance.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt might sound messed up, but we should kill more people,\u201d Matarazzo said (via CBR<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\u201cThis show would be so much better if the stakes were much higher \u2013 like at any moment, any of these kids can kick it. I feel like we\u2019re all too safe.\u201d<\/p>

While none of the original main cast have been killed off to date, troubled teen Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) did have a close brush with death in season 4, where she was tormented by the terrifying Vecna.<\/p>\n

She was left in a comatose state after the dramatic finale<\/a>, with Stranger Things creators the Duffer Brothers confirming<\/a> she is alive, but \u201cbraindead, blind, and all of her bones are broken\u201d. Sink will return for season 5<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Other supporting and additional characters have met their fate in previous outings, with Barb (Shannon Purser), Bob (Sean Astin), Billy (Dacre Montgomery) and Eddie<\/a> (Joseph Quinn) among the toughest losses for fans.<\/p>\n

Many became convinced that Joe Keery\u2019s Steve Harrington was being primed for the chopping block in season 4, which led to the \u201cProtect Steve\u201d panic<\/a> of summer 2022. Fortunately, he pulled through to fight another day.<\/p>\n

In November, Stranger Things producer Shawn Levy<\/a> told RadioTimes.com<\/a> that there would be \u2018lots of tears\u2019 in the final season, although its unclear if that\u2019s an allusion to notable character deaths or other emotionally charged storylines.<\/p>\n

One actor who is interested in a dramatic exit from the show would be Maya Hawke, who plays Steve\u2019s best friend Robin.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would love to die and get my hero\u2019s moment,\u201d she told Rolling Stone<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019d love to die with honour, as any actor would. But I love the way that the Duffer Brothers love their actors.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reason that they write so beautifully for me and for everyone else is because they fall in love with their actors and their characters, and they don\u2019t want to kill them. I think that\u2019s a beautiful quality that they have, and I wouldn\u2019t wish it away.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stranger Things season 5<\/a> does not yet have a release date, but production is finally underway following the resolution of the Hollywood strikes.<\/p>\n
