It was confirmed some time ago that nothing was in the works for a second season<\/a> of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney Plus, but star Ewan McGregor still has hope this could be changed around.<\/p>\n During a panel discussion<\/a> at MegaCon, the Star Wars actor opened up about his hopes for another instalment of the sci-fi series, telling fans to write to Disney about a season 2.<\/p>\n Speaking of the first season, McGregor said: \u201cIt was originally gonna be a movie, and I\u2019ve often thought, \u2018Should it have been a movie?\u2019 But I kind of think it\u2019s great that they did it that way and it\u2019s a long story, and hopefully, it\u2019s more satisfying as a result.\u201d<\/p>\n The actor went on to say there is \u201ctime to weave a story\u201d and hopes there will be another.<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cCan everyone write to Disney? I\u2019ll give you some email addresses at the end, and just say, \u2018Dear Disney, let\u2019s a have a bit more of Obi-Wan Kenobi please.’\u201d<\/p> McGregor hasn\u2019t been shy about suggesting ideas for more storylines, and back in August 2023, director Deborah Chow revealed that McGregor had pitched ideas for a season 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n She told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>: \u201cAs Ewan and I finished our very last shot on second unit and I was literally taking off my headphones, he was already pitching me ideas for season 2. There\u2019s another 10 years with plenty of stories, and I don\u2019t think it\u2019s off the board.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is a \u2018never say never\u2019 situation, but we really did conceive this to be a limited series.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n McGregor isn\u2019t the only one who would love to return to the series, with Hayden Christensen previously telling RadioTimes.com<\/a> he would \u201clove to continue\u201d as Anakin Skywalker<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWell, it was definitely conceived as a standalone story. But I would love to continue with this character. You know, I think there\u2019s certainly more there to explore and I would be so excited to get to do so,\u201d he said, noting that if a second season was on the cards, he \u201cwould certainly be open to\u201d appearing in it.<\/p>\n\n
