Written by DC Moore\u00a0<\/strong>(Killing Eve<\/a>) and inspired by Benjamin Woolley\u2019s nonfiction book The King\u2019s Assassin<\/a>, the new series stars Oscar winner Julianne Moore<\/a> (May December<\/a>) and Nicholas Galitzine (Red, White & Royal Blue<\/a>) as the formidable mother and son duo, while Tony Curran (Mayflies) stars as King James VI of Scotland and I of England.<\/p>\n Described as a \u201chistorical psychodrama\u201d, the series follows Mary as she figures out that she can use her son George to seduce the king \u2013 but the decision has knock-on consequences for their own familial relationship.<\/p>\n According to the synopsis: \u201cGeorge must prove to himself that he can be defined by more than just his beauty.
