Last week\u2019s episode of Grantchester season 8<\/a> took a concerning turn when Will began self-medicating<\/a> in an effort to manage his guilt after accidentally killing a man<\/a> while riding his motorcycle.<\/p>\n

Despite his family and friends rallying around him to lift his spirits, and encouraging him to talk about his emotions, the vicar instead turned to the pills he\u2019d been given by Alfie, a young Italian immigrant who had been murdered, to claw himself back from the brink.<\/p>\n

But in tonight\u2019s episode (8th February), he continued to drift further into the mire.<\/p>\n

After his behaviour had become increasingly erratic over the course of the day, which included jeopardising the future of Leonard\u2019s halfway house after lambasting a local councillor, Geordie decided to take action.<\/p>\n

The detective confronted his friend at the station and demanded that he hand over the substance he\u2019d been abusing, but Will refused, which resulted in an awkward manhandling to retrieve the bottle \u2013 a\u00a0low point in their relationship, but the lowest point was yet to come.<\/p>\n
