Over a decade after the Anne Hathaway-starring film adaptation of One Day<\/a> was met with scathing reviews, the best-selling novel by David Nicholls<\/a> is getting the TV series treatment on Netflix \u2013 and it\u2019s landed just in time for Valentine\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

Starring This is Going to Hurt\u2019s Ambika Mod<\/a> and The White Lotus\u2019s Leo Woodall as Emma and Dexter<\/a> \u2013 parts previously portrayed by Hathaway and Jim Sturgess in the film adaptation \u2013 <\/span>One Day<\/a> chronicles the slow-burning, two-decade-spanning relationship between the pair as they navigate the highs and lows of life.<\/p>\n

Talking about the difficulties of adapting<\/a> the much talked-about novel for the big screen, Woodall told RadioTimes.com:<\/a> \u201cWe both knew it was a mountain to climb.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s such a beautiful story, and we both auditioned four or five times, so by the time we\u2019d started filming, we were so immersed in it already. So it was a lovely new challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mod added: \u201cEven before we started filming, it definitely felt like a much bigger challenge \u2013 just the scope and the breadth and the length of the series, and how much stuff we would have to do, and ageing up characters over 20 years, and the stuff they go through, definitely felt like a much bigger challenge than what I\u2019ve done before.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo that was exciting and terrifying in equal measure.\u201d<\/p>\n
