Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 after overtime in Super Bowl LVIII following an explosive finish to an otherwise lacklustre encounter in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n
Mecole Hardman scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime to ensure the Vince Lombardi Trophy will jet back to Kansas City with the Chiefs.<\/p>\n
Points were hard to come by in the opening two quarters, before 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings collected the ball from QB Brock Purdy before slinging the ball himself to Christian McCaffery for a 21-yarder trick play.<\/p>\n
The Chiefs crept back into the game to draw level at 19-19 before the knife-edge overtime procedure kicked into gear.<\/p>\n
The 49ers settled for a field goal on the opening OT drive, but a typical clutch drive by that man Patrick Mahomes saw Hardman haul in the game-winning TD in dramatic fashion.<\/p>\n
