Madame Web is set to land in cinemas tomorrow (14th February) \u2013\u00a0and now we\u2019ve got the first reactions to the film.<\/span><\/p>\n The Spider-Man spin-off stars Dakota Johnson in the titular role as Cassandra Webb<\/a>, a woman with psychic abilities.<\/span><\/p>\n But she isn\u2019t the only Spider-Woman in town and, as was teased in the film\u2019s first trailer<\/a>, teams up with <\/span>three women<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 Julia (Sydney Sweeney), Mattie (Celeste O\u2019Connor) and Anya (Isabela Merced)<\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u2013 <\/span>to fight the villainous Ezekiel \u2018Zeke\u2019 Sims.<\/span><\/p>\n The film is the fourth feature in Sony\u2019s shared Spider-Man Universe, following <\/span>Venom, Venom: Let There Be Carnage<\/span>, and <\/span>Morbius, a<\/span>nd, with its multiverse focus, is an attempt to steer the franchise in a new direction.<\/span><\/p>\n But sadly, the first reviews and reactions to Madame Web<\/a> appear to be overwhelmingly negative, with Inverse\u2019s Hoai-Tran Bus calling it<\/a>\u00a0\u201cjust about the worst movie you\u2019d find at the bottom of that Walmart dollar bin\u201d.<\/p> \u00a0<\/p>\n Meanwhile,\u00a0Variety\u2019s Peter Debruge wrote<\/a>: \u201cMadame Web was never going to touch the relatively high-concept, Disney-made Avengers movies\u2026 But guess what? Tickets still cost just as much as they would for a more canonical Marvel movie.
