The series begins on Channel 5 tonight, and Tointon says it’s “a bit of a rollercoaster of emotions”. <\/p>
Former EastEnders<\/a> star Kara Tointon has teased what to expect in her upcoming Channel 5 series Too Good to Be True<\/a> \u2013 describing the psychological thriller as a \u201crollercoaster of emotions\u201d.<\/p>\n Tointon takes on the lead role of Rachel in the four-parter, a single mother and cleaner who is offered a job to work exclusively for a rich client \u2013 only to find herself questioning whether the opportunity is indeed too good to be true.<\/p>\n The series gets underway at 9pm tonight (Wednesday 14th February), and ahead of the debut, Tointon revealed to RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press that she \u201cinstantly got behind\u201d Rachel when she was handed the first two scripts prior to her audition.<\/p>\n \u201cShe feels like a lot of the country at the moment,\u201d she explained. \u201cShe\u2019s really struggling, trying to make ends meet, and I was quickly flying the flag for her. And I was desperate to know what was in store later on.\u201d<\/p> Tointon also described the character as a \u201cgo-getter\u201d who is \u201ctrying her best\u201d, but added that \u201ceverything\u2019s up against her\u201d and \u201cshe\u2019s not got much of a support system\u201d.<\/p>\n \u200cShe continued: \u201cI suppose I was just really excited as I\u2019m coming into a bit of a new phase of my career, playing slightly older characters, and it\u2019s interesting to be leading a psychological thriller and looking into coercive relationships.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd it keeps you guessing, it\u2019s a bit of a rollercoaster of emotions, for sure.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd you really have to jump on board with Rachel. It\u2019s her story, and that was really exciting for me. So it was something to get my teeth into. And becoming a mother, it gives you a new perspective on everything. And that\u2019s been helpful.<\/p>\n \u201cBut I liked Rachel because she\u2019s just a nice, young woman that you hope for the best for. But everything\u2019s up against her.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, you\u2019re just hoping that things come good one day, and she can keep trying. And this is a moment in her life where you think, \u2018Oh, my God, all her prayers are answered,\u2019 but everything\u2019s a little bit more serious than it seems.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
