A potential return may not be on the horizon… <\/p>

Gavin & Stacey fans could not contain their excitement when the news spread that a potential Christmas special<\/a> was \u201cin the works\u201d at the BBC. But their bubbles were then burst when co-creator Ruth Jones dismissed the claims<\/a> as \u201ca rumour\u201d.<\/p>\n

Now, Rob Brydon (AKA Uncle Bryn) has addressed the rumours of the show returning, and it seems fans may have to hold their breaths once more.<\/p>\n

Speaking on BBC Radio 4\u2019s Today programme (as per The Mirror<\/a>), Brydon said: \u201cI get asked about this on every interview I ever do.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor, who also popped up in Barbie last year, continued: \u201cI sound like a politician, as far as I\u2019m aware it\u2019s another rumour. I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Giving a hint of his own feelings on the matter, The Trip star added: \u201cI mean, I\u2019d love it if it were true.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brydon isn\u2019t the only star who\u2019d love for the show to return. Oscar Hartland, who portrayed Neil the Baby, told MailOnline<\/a> he would \u201clove to do it again\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m ready if they are,\u201d he told the publication. \u201cEveryone\u2019s heard the rumours and the whole country wants to see another episode. I\u2019d love to be part of that. I don\u2019t want to be a party pooper but I\u2019ve heard nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Deadline originally reported<\/a> the comeback news, claiming that the special episode was in \u201cdevelopment\/pre-production and cameras will roll in a few months time\u201d, with majority of the main cast said to be returning.<\/p>
However, during an interview on RT\u00c9 Radio 1, Ruth Jones told host Oliver Callan: \u201cIf there was something to say, James [Corden] and I would happily announce it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s lovely that people love it,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
Gavin & Stacey originally aired for three seasons from 2007 to 2010 and was one of the most successful British comedies of its era, starring Mathew Horne and Joanna Page in the titular roles.<\/p>\n
