Howells plays Owen in The Way<\/a>, a troubled young man and the youngest son of the Driscoll family, who gets involved in a riot and subsequently has to flee his hometown of Port Talbot with his family, as they become refugees from civil unrest.<\/p>\n Howells spoke with RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press in January, and addressed how it differs playing the two characters, Colin and Owen.<\/p>\n Howells said: \u201cI love Colin, and yesterday I think was three years since It\u2019s a Sin came out. So looking back was so crazy, because I feel like I was a different person then, a different actor.<\/p>\n \u201cBut Owen\u2019s a lot more spunky I guess, and he\u2019s a lot more of a kind of badass. And that\u2019s what I kind of loved doing in this role, is trying to prove people wrong and show people that I can do more.<\/p>\n \u201cI will forever be grateful for Colin and It\u2019s a Sin, but I\u2019m excited now to do different things and constantly learn about myself as an actor and as a person.\u201d<\/p>\n Asked which character he has preferred playing, Howells said: \u201cI don\u2019t really have a preference. I just love constantly trying to do different things.<\/p>\n \u201cThat was one thing about growing up in Royal Welsh [College of Music and Drama], looking at someone like Sophie Melville [Howells\u2019s co-star in The Way], I got to kind of be like, \u2018Oh my God, I want a career like Sophie\u2019s, who constantly does different things.\u2019<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cAnd I think that\u2019s always what I\u2019ve aspired to do. So I just want to keep doing different things and keep kind of learning, really. And being proven wrong, you know what I mean?
