The Doc Martin actor recently revealed that he found it difficult to return to the \u201cgloomy headspace\u201d required for the role and the series itself.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s what these guys do for us, they nail b*****ds.\u201d<\/p>\n Manhunt\u2019s first series, which aired back in 2019, proved to be one of ITV\u2019s most successful dramas of the year, centring around the murder of French student Amelie Delagrange which was subsequently linked to the deaths of Marsha McDonnell and Milly Dowler.<\/p>\n Series two, Manhunt II: The Night Stalker, will see Colin Sutton investigate the real life story of a notorious serial rapist who terrorised south east London, with writer Ed Whitmore adapting the series from Colin Sutton\u2019s diaries.<\/p>\n \u201cThe character is my idea of a version of Colin,\u201d Clunes explained. \u201cThere were no prosthetics like when Gary Oldman played Winston Churchill. I didn\u201dt go for a photographic reproduction.
