Few artists have had such a profound impact rock music than the Godfather of Shock Rock himself, Alice Cooper, and few artists can claim to have a universally recognised aesthetic as Cooper, too. The original Alice Cooper band found inspiration for their iconic look from the movie What Ever Happened To Baby Jane? which stars Bette Davis with heavy makeup and smudged black eye liner.<\/p>\n

The band\u2019s debut album Pretties For You stormed onto the scene in 1969, and between the years of 1970 and 1973, the American rock band released six more albums. Notable Alice Cooper hits include the 1972 track School\u2019s Out, which hit the number one spot on the UK Singles Chart, and the 1973 tracks No More Mr Nice Guy, Elected and Hello Hooray from the album Billion Dollar Babies.<\/p>\n

When the band split up in 1975, Vincent Damon Furnier \u2014 who legally changed his name to \u2018Alice Cooper\u2019 to avoid any legal issues of the ownership of the band name \u2014 launched a solo career, starting with the concept album Welcome To My Nightmare. Over the next 35 years, fans of Cooper were treated to a whopping 17 albums, which included chart-topping tracks Under My Wheels, Poison, Feed My Frankenstein, Desperado and Only Women Bleed.<\/p>\n

The Shock Rock pioneer has a fantastic line-up of support acts joining him on his UK tour. The two-piece punk band The Meffs will be joining Cooper on all UK dates, Scottish rock band Primal Scream, known for their huge hits Loaded, Come Together and Movin\u2019 On Up, will support Cooper on every date besides the London ones, and Sex Pistols\u2019 Glen Matlock will join Cooper in London.<\/p>\n
