The host’s Cowboy Time segment didn’t quite go to plan… <\/p>

Greg James was forced to cut off a caller on his BBC Radio 1 programme on Wednesday morning (21st February) following a rude prank live on air.<\/span><\/p>\n

The DJ was hosting his popular Cowboy Time segment at 9:50am, which usually involves callers repeating the word ten in a cowboy style to mark 10 minutes to 10.<\/span><\/p>\n

But today, things took a turn for the worse as listeners heard a caller say: \u201cI\u2019m here!\u201d \u2013 to which James replied: \u201cYou\u2019re here, but I\u2019ve got a question \u2018What time is it?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Instead of answering the question, the caller proceeded to play sex noises down the phone, with James quickly cutting him off.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOh, OK. That\u2019s a shame. That is a shame. Do we call him again?\u201d James then told listeners as he appeared to laugh it off.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWell that buries it, doesn\u2019t it? That\u2019s the end,\u201d the presenter continued. \u201cThat\u2019s the end of Cowboy Time as we know it. That\u2019s a fail. That\u2019s a huge fail.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThanks a lot, Lewis, you ruined the party for everyone,\u201d he added, before referencing a classic episode of <\/a><\/span>Come Dine With Me<\/span>: \u201cEnjoy the money, Jane. I hope it makes you very happy.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOh, sad\u2026 Rest in peace, Cowboy Time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

It\u2019s not the first time the BBC has been targeted by a prankster live on air, with the broadcaster\u2019s live coverage of the Euro 2024 draw disrupted by inappropriate noises back in December 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n

The presenters were wrapping up the draw in Hamburg when viewers started hearing sex noises in the background of the coverage.<\/span><\/p>\n

The prank was later claimed by YouTube prankster Daniel Jarvis, known as \u2018Jarvo69\u2019 on social media, w<\/span>ho had sabotaged Gary Lineker and co\u2019s coverage of Liverpool\u2019s FA Cup clash against Wolves<\/a> earlier in 2023 with a similar prank.<\/span><\/p>\n
