Try getting New York out of your head! <\/p>
Ahead of its transfer to the West End\u2019s Criterion Theatre, the new musical Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)<\/a>\u00a0has released a taster of what\u2019s to come.<\/p>\n This week, the cast and crew launched a short EP featuring eight songs from the upcoming musical.<\/p>\n The tracks are performed entirely by the show\u2019s only two cast members: Sam Tutty (Dear Evan Hansen, Hollyoaks) and Dujonna Gift (Hamilton), who will be beginning their West End run from 4th April.<\/p>\n The story of Two Strangers (Carry a Cake across New York) is pretty self-explanatory. It follows Dougal, a na\u00efve nerdy Brit, who flies to New York to be a part of his estranged Dad\u2019s wedding. Picking him up at the airport is Robin, a native New Yorker and the sister of the bride, and together they, well\u2026 read the title.<\/p>\n In a chat with RadioTimes.com<\/a>, the two stars said that the show is about \u201ctiny, honest storytelling\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s brave enough to be small,\u201d said Tutty, \u201cIt\u2019s just two people who aren\u2019t trying to change the world, aren\u2019t trying to fight for something they believe in. It\u2019s just their own internal struggles and I think that\u2019s the one thing we all have in common.\u201d<\/p>\n The musical is moving to the West End after a sold-out 10-week run at the Kiln Theatre and has been penned by writers Jim Barne and Kit Buchan.<\/p>\n To find out more, read our guide to how to get Two Strangers tickets<\/a>.
