Is Helen George leaving Call the Midwife? <\/p>

Trixie had a big decision to make in the penultimate episode of Call the Midwife season 13<\/a>: stay in Poplar, where she\u2019s built a life for herself, but without Matthew by her side, or follow him to New York, leaving her job and her friends behind?<\/p>\n

Her husband had decided to move to the \u2018Big Apple\u2019 in the hope of reviving his dwindling business prospects \u2013 a conclusion he\u2019d reached without first consulting with Trixie.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, you\u2019ve decided that independently, have you?\u201d she said. \u201cAct now and tell the little woman later.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matthew will remain there for three to four months initially, but if his partnership with his friend Chester goes well, it\u2019s likely the move will become permanent, which casts doubt on their marriage.<\/p>\n

There are numerous ways in which this could play out, including divorce, but the pair desperately love one another, which could see Trixie join him in the States, where they could remain for months, years, or forever.<\/p>\n
While she wasn\u2019t ready to make that leap in this week\u2019s episode, there\u2019s a chance we could see the nurse follow him at a later date when he\u2019s found his feet and business is going well.<\/p>\n
But have there been whispers about a Helen George exit?<\/p>\n
