Where did the cast and crew pitch up? <\/p>

Guy Ritchie\u2019s latest project is an eight-parter\u00a0for Netflix<\/a> titled The Gentlemen<\/a>, a spin-off of his 2020 film of the same name.<\/p>\n

The action-packed series stars The White Lotus\u2019s<\/a> Theo James as Eddie Horniman, the son of an aristocrat who unexpectedly inherits his father\u2019s country estate \u2013 which also happens to be part of a cannabis empire.<\/p>\n

Appearing alongside James are a raft of screen heavyweights, including Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad<\/a>, Better Call Saul<\/a>),<\/span> Ritchie favourites Ray Winstone and Vinnie Jones, and Joely Richardson (One Day<\/a>, Nip\/Tuck).<\/span><\/p>\n

Where is The Gentlemen filmed?<\/strong><\/h2>\nHalstead manner, where Eddie and his brother Freddie (Daniel Ings) were raised, \u201csets the tone of The Gentlemen<\/a>\u201c, said co-writer and executive producer Matthew Read, who also described it as <\/span>\u201canother character in the show\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u201cIt also connects to the history of aristocracy and to one of the show\u2019s key themes of class. <\/span>So as soon as Eddie turns up at Halstead, you understand so much about his character, his background and his life. <\/span><\/p>\n
\u201cAnd when the cocaine dealing scousers arrive there, the contrast between the two worlds is laid out right before you. It\u2019s a brilliant shortcut to the heart of the story.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
Halstead Manor is actually\u00a0 Badminton House<\/a>, the Gloucestershire seat of the Duke and Duchess of Beaufort.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u201cBadminton felt immediately right for Halstead because it\u2019s a proper, lived in, home, rather than a National Trust museum,\u201d said location manager Iggy Ellis. \u201cSo inside there\u2019d be some walking sticks by the door or a few shotgun rounds from where they\u2019d been out shooting. There were cracks and tired bits as you\u2019d get in every family home. But there was also oil painting and history and majesty. It felt perfect for our story.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Ings added: \u201cWhen it comes to capturing the essence of aristocracy, they [the locations] do a lot of the work for you. <\/span>When you\u2019re in those vast halls with their antiques and their huge 15ft oil paintings, you can\u2019t help but get a sense of all the privilege and the history and the beauty.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u201cAnd when you\u2019re standing there in a dressing gown with a vape and a shotgun, it also really helps to ram home that clash of styles.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
