It’s not the first time his exit has been teased… <\/p>

Heading into the finale of Death in Paradise<\/a> season 13, Ralf Little\u2019s<\/a> future is uncertain once more following recent narrative developments.<\/p>\n

In the penultimate episode, Neville announced that he was leaving Saint Marie to go travelling in the hope that he will finally meet his forever person.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf there\u2019s one thing this job teaches you, it\u2019s that life\u2019s too short,\u201d he said to Naomi. \u201cIt\u2019s not just the cases, it\u2019s what\u00a0 happened with the commissioner<\/a> a few weeks ago. So I need to be more like Zoe (his ex-girlfriend)<\/a>, take a risk, before it\u2019s too late.\u201d<\/p>\n

His colleague asked him to clarify.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a small island, it\u2019s full of ghosts for me,\u201d he explained. \u201c Florence<\/a>, Rebecca<\/a>. What are the chances of me finding love again here? So if I do want to find the one, and I really do, I\u2019m going to put myself out there, literally.\u201d<\/p>\n

But his mindset shifted when he learned that Florence was no longer in witness protection<\/a> and was planning to visit her friends and former colleagues when she\u2019d solved a murder on a neighbouring island.<\/p>\n

Suddenly, the detective inspector was unsure about his departure and appeared to be leaning towards staying.<\/p>

Eventually, he made his way to airport, despite missing a face to face reunion with Florence, but we didn\u2019t actually see Neville\u2019s plane take off, so we can safely assume that he will return to Saint Marie for one more episode, at least.<\/p>\n

But what about his future beyond that? Will Little return for season 14<\/a>, or will the upcoming finale mark Neville\u2019s final outing on the show?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s certainly not the first time<\/a> his exit had been teased.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think maybe it\u2019s time to call it a day,\u201d he said following Sophie\/Rebecca\u2019s cruel betrayal last season, which left him heartbroken, his confidence shattered.<\/p>\n
But while he managed to overcome that particular hurdle<\/a>, this outcome could be a disappointing one for fans, who have grown to love Neville, now the longest-serving detective in the series\u2019 history.<\/p>\n
Perhaps Little\u2019s potential decision to leave has come from the actor himself, who previously told RadioTimes.com<\/a> that he\u2019d like to take on a villainous role.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve mostly made a career out of playing quite likeable characters and I\u2019ve loved it,\u201d he said. \u201cThe characters I\u2019m mostly known for are likeable, decent, lovable characters. But people are complex and I\u2019d really love to do something very different.\u201d<\/p>\n
