A new controversial documentary from the creator of Seaspiracy has landed \u2013 here’s how you can watch it. <\/p>

A brand new documentary from the co-creator of Seaspiracy<\/a>, Cowspiracy and What the Health has landed. And, much like its predecessors, it\u2019s causing quite the stir. So much so, that it won\u2019t be following them on Netflix.<\/p>\n

Controversial filmmaker Kip Andersen teamed up with fellow director Kameron Waters (who is listed as a composer on Seaspiracy) to investigate questions surrounding faith, ethics, vegetarianism and religion, including whether or not Jesus was a vegetarian.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo daring filmmakers embark on a global quest sparked by the not-so-simple question \u2018is there a spiritual way to kill an animal?\u2019, and along the way discover the biggest cover-up in the last 2000 years,\u201d they documentary\u2019s website<\/a> teases.<\/p>\n

Christspiracy release date<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The controversial documentary is out now worldwide<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It was released on cinemas in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and more on Wednesday 20th March.<\/p>\n

Currently, the only place to watch the film in the UK is the cinema. The documentary will be showing in select theatres around the country.<\/p>\n

Though Andersen\u2019s previous films have all found a home in Netflix, this will not be the case for Christspiracy.<\/p>\n

\u201c[We are] super grateful to Netflix for providing a platform and releasing the other three previous films,\u201d Andersen told Plant Based News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cWith this film it is a little challenging, as some of the subject matter is so bold and so controversial.\u201d<\/p>\n

What is <\/strong>Christspiracy <\/strong>about?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The documentary seeks to answer the question of whether animals can be killed in a spiritual way, and claims to uncover a 2,000-year-old cover-up in the process \u2013 that Jesus was a vegetarian.<\/p>\n

It was funded by a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised $433,747.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a gut-wrenching decision to step away from Netflix,\u201d co-director Waters explained. \u201cBut now that we\u2019ve sat with it \u2013 and have considered how much more reach this message will have with people around the world by doing this independently \u2013 we\u2019re very excited.\u201d<\/p>

On the film\u2019s Kickstarter campaign, the pair provided more details about the streamer\u2019s reservations, writing: \u201cAfter countless hours of research, years of relentless investigation, and tireless hours of planning, filming, and editing, we returned home and presented our first cut to Netflix. Let\u2019s just say, we felt Netflix didn\u2019t know how to\u2026 view what we uncovered.\u201d<\/p>\n

They added: \u201cThey wanted to redact key parts and take the film in a different direction, while we dove deeper in the direction that we knew the investigation needed to go.\u201d<\/p>\n
