The Marvel star gets candid in a new interview about Twisted Metal. <\/p>
Anthony Mackie has spoken candidly about the Marvel Cinematic Universe<\/a> in an exclusive new interview with RadioTimes.com<\/a>, revealing that he was somewhat disappointed that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier did not end up getting a second season.<\/p>\n One of the MCU\u2019s first forays into streaming television on Disney Plus<\/a>, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier<\/a> aired in 2021 and saw Mackie\u2019s Sam Wilson taking on the mantle of Captain America after the timeline-tinkering antics of Avengers: Endgame.<\/p>\n The show also starred Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes and Daniel Br\u00fchl as the villainous Helmut Zemo. You might remember the meme-worthy moment when Zemo was dancing in a nightclub.<\/p>\n Looking back on it now, Mackie says: \u201cThe Falcon and [the] Winter Soldier, I really enjoyed doing that show. I was actually excited to do a second season, just so me and Sebastian [Stan] can get paid to hang out.<\/p>\n \u201cBecause it\u2019s like me, him and Daniel Br\u00fchl. It\u2019s kind of like the perfect storm of happiness.\u201d<\/p>\n Fans seemed to enjoy that combo of characters, as well, with the episodic format giving them some room to breathe.<\/p>\n But instead of returning for a second season, the MCU bosses have sent Mackie\u2019s Sam Wilson back to the big screen for 2025\u2019s Captain America: Brave New World<\/a> movie.<\/p> As Mackie puts it: \u201cWhen they decided to go back to the movies, it is what it is, but I don\u2019t have my friends anymore, so it kind of dampens it a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n Making it clear that he\u2019ll miss the TV show\u2019s cast, Mackie added: \u201cAnything I can do to hang out with Daniel, a dancing Daniel Br\u00fchl, makes me very happy.\u201d<\/p>\n Here\u2019s hoping that some of that charm can carry over to the new Captain America film, even if it will be hard to top Br\u00fchl on the dance floor.<\/p>\n The interview also sees Mackie explaining how his new TV show, the video game adaptation Twisted Metal, is \u201ccompletely different\u201d to \u201cthe Marvel thing\u201d.<\/p>\n
