The veteran of the franchise also wants to see the team fight ghosts overseas. <\/p>
Ernie Hudson has been part of the Ghostbusters franchise from the very beginning \u2013 and in the newly released Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire<\/a>, he once again reprises his role as Winston Zeddemore.<\/p>\n Hudson made a cameo appearance alongside fellow legacy cast members Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in the previous entry Ghostbusters: Afterlife<\/a> and this time around, he\u2019s been given a more substantial role.<\/p>\n After discovering at the end of Afterlife that he has become a wealthy entrepreneur, we now find him bankrolling a state-of-the-art facility for investigating ghosts, where he employs James Acaster\u2019s Lars Pinfield as his chief scientist.<\/p>\n And speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a> shortly ahead of release, the star revealed that he hopes to see this facility explored in even more detail in future sequels.<\/p> \u201cWinston has sort of moved to a different place,\u201d he explained. \u201cI\u2019m excited about the lab [and] that for Winston, it\u2019s not just a matter of running down, chasing down ghosts. But why is this happening? You know, all of a sudden, what\u2019s behind it?<\/p>\n \u201cAnd if the franchise moves forward, I\u2019d love to sort of see more of an investigation into that, you know, because I think Winston believes that there are ghosts that [have] crossed that invisible line that you shouldn\u2019t cross, and certainly they\u2019re causing problems. But there are ghosts that are good ghosts that are here to support us as well.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd so I think Winston is fascinated. And I love the fact that he came in for a job\u2026 not quite believing to now going\u2026 \u2018You know let\u2019s really figure this out\u2019. I\u2019d love to see more of that figuring out as we move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n Asked if there had been any talks about the future at this juncture, Hudson explained that it was \u201csomething that\u2019s been discussed\u201d, but he was as yet unsure how far those discussions might lead.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m an actor, so I kind of throw it out there [and] we\u2019ll see how much they take to heart or how much comes up,\u201d he said. \u201cBut it\u2019s just my personal thing I\u2019d love to see.\u201d<\/p>\n And Hudson also put forward another idea for a way to expand the franchise \u2013 by taking the Ghostbusters overseas to explore ghosts in other cultures.<\/p>\n \u201cYou know, there are ghost stories in every culture,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019d love to see it expand beyond New York. Certainly it\u2019s been a New York story up until now, but I\u2019d love to come to Europe and some of those old castles and different parts of the world and also introduce the different cultures too.<\/p>\n \u201cIts kind of an American thing, I\u2019d love to see it sort of stretch out a bit. I think it\u2019s big enough to embrace all that!\u201d<\/p>\n\n
