A new version of the 1989 cult action film <\/span>Road House<\/span><\/a> has landed, starring Jake Gyllenhaal as a former UFC fighter who takes a job as a bouncer in a rowdy Florida Keys roadhouse \u2013 a role portrayed by Patrick Swayze in the original version.<\/span><\/p>\n Gyllenhaal is joined by a cast that includes Lukas Gage,\u00a0<\/span>Daniela Melchior, Conor McGregor and Joaquim de Almeida.<\/span><\/p>\n The new film might share a title and premise with the original movie, but it makes several substantial changes. <\/span><\/p>\n Speaking exclusively to <\/span>RadioTimes.com<\/span><\/a> at a special preview screening in London about the intention behind these changes<\/a>, You and Euphoria star <\/span>Gage<\/span><\/a> said: <\/span>\u201cI think that we weren\u2019t trying to copy too much of the original version. I think that that is so perfect and amazing as it is.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe just wanted to, you know, do a couple of shout-outs, have some throwbacks [and] pay respect to that movie and to Patrick Swayze first and foremost, because he\u2019s a legend.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n He added: \u201cYou know, we wanted to do him proud.
