The BBC has revealed the first proper trailer for Doctor Who season 1<\/a> \u2014 or Doctor Who series 14<\/a> if you\u2019re still sticking to the old way of saying things \u2014 with showrunner Russell T Davies stating that he is \u201cso proud\u201d of the show\u2019s new leads, Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson.<\/p>\n

Davies wrote on Instagram<\/a>: \u201cI mean, look at them, what blazing stars!\u201d<\/p>\n

However, there are a couple of returning stars in the trailer, too \u2014 fans have been quick to celebrate Bonnie Langford\u2019s comeback, and Jemma Redgrave\u2019s Kate Stewart is back in the mix as well.<\/p>\n

David also said on Instagram: \u201cAnd this is just the beginning, we have epic tales to come! Alongside the most intimate and heartfelt stories too. Monsters, gods, villains, babies\u2026 and a very precise distance?\u201d Who knows what that could mean? Anyone?!<\/p>\n

The Doctor Who season 1 trailer, including Bonnie Langford in some moped action, can be seen in full below.<\/p>\n\n<p>Fans will remember that Bonnie Langford first played Mel Bush in 1986, starring alongside Colin Baker\u2019s Sixth Doctor and sticking around for Sylvester McCoy\u2019s Seventh Doctor as well.<\/p>\n<p>Langford\u2019s Mel left the show in 1987, before popping up again in 1993\u2019s Dimensions in Time special, and then the modern era\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/doctor-who-the-power-of-the-doctor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Power of the Doctor<\/a> (Jodie Whittaker\u2019s final episode from 2022) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/doctor-who-the-giggle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Giggle<\/a> (Ncuti Gatwa\u2019s introduction episode in 2023).<\/p>\n<p>With Mel now working at UNIT, it shouldn\u2019t come as any surprise that she\u2019ll pop up in the new season. But still, it\u2019s nice to see her in the trailer being properly involved in some on-road action.<\/p> <p>The Doctor Who season 1 trailer is scored to David Bowie\u2019s Changes, with the lyrics to the song tying in perfectly with the imagery on screen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTime may change me, but I can\u2019t trace time\u201d is the dramatic lyric deployed at the end of the trailer, potentially hinting that the Doctor and Ruby Sunday could go through some significant changes this season as they embark on their first joint adventures in time and space.<\/p>\n<p>Other highlights in the trailer include a great gag about The Butterfly Effect (speaking of time and changes), a not-so-subtle nod to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/drama\/bridgerton-season-3-release-date-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bridgerton<\/a>, and an epic landing of the TARDIS at UNIT HQ.
