Last seen sailing off with Jos\u00e9phine Jobert\u2019s Detective Sergeant Florence Cassell<\/a> by his side, we didn\u2019t get a conclusive answer to their romantic future, but actor Little said in a statement that \u201cnew adventures await Neville, and he got to sail away into the sunset with his best friend. Who knows what happens for them next!\u201d<\/p>\n As of now, there\u2019s been no confirmed news over Little\u2019s replacement for season 14<\/a>, but who could come in to take over the team at Saint Marie\u2019s police station?<\/p>\n Well, RadioTimes.com<\/a> posed that exact question to former Death in Paradise detective Ben Miller, who previously starred as DI Richard Poole in the BBC series and is now fronting ITV\u2019s Professor T<\/a>.<\/p>\n On who would be a good replacement for Little\u2019s Neville Parker, Miller said: \u201cOh my God, there are so many people who\u2019d be brilliant. Toby Jones, that\u2019s who I\u2019d like to see.\u201d<\/p>\n And does Miller think a female lead detective could work in the series?<\/p>\n \u201cYeah, that could definitely work. I could see that, 100%. I think that\u2019d be good too. If we\u2019re playing fantasy detectives, Miranda Hart,\u201d Miller admitted.<\/p>\n There\u2019s no doubt that Jones<\/a> has had quite the recent boom on our TV screens recently, with starring roles in Mr Bates vs the Post Office<\/a>, The Long Shadow and upcoming ITV drama, Ruth<\/a>.<\/p>\n Hart, of course, is best known for her self-titled BBC sitcom, as well as her roles in Call the Midwife<\/a> and Not Going Out. But could either of them turn their hand to helming the island-based detective drama?<\/p> Fans of Death in Paradise will just have to keep their eyes peeled for news as to who will be replacing Little, but Little did previously tell RadioTimes.com<\/strong> about the\u00a0\u201cpossibility\u201d of the show being led by a female detective.<\/p>\n \u201cThe show is extremely positive and brave in its choices,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd if they feel like that\u2019s the right next move, then that\u2019s what they\u2019ll do.<\/p>\n \u201cThe creative team at [series producers] Red Planet knows that show so well now that they\u2019ll always make a decision based on what\u2019s good for the show, and what\u2019s good for the fan base. I certainly wouldn\u2019t rule it out. Never say never.\u201d<\/p>\n He added: \u201c\u2018Never say never\u2019 implies that it\u2019s unlikely. The honest answer is: I don\u2019t know. It\u2019s certainly a possibility.
