Harry Potter star Jessie Cave has revealed that she \u201creally didn\u2019t like\u201d Miriam Margolyes\u2019s recent comments about the franchise\u2019s adult fan base.<\/p>\n
Margolyes went viral earlier this month after suggesting during an interview with New Zealand news programme 1News<\/a>\u00a0that fans who were no longer children should move on from obsessing over the wizarding world.<\/p>\n \u201cI worry about Harry Potter<\/a> fans because they should be over that by now,\u201d she said. \u201cIt was 25 years ago, and it\u2019s for children. I think it\u2019s for children.\u201d<\/p>\n She added: \u201cThey get stuck in it. I do Cameos, and people say, \u2018We\u2019re having a Harry Potter-themed wedding,\u2019 and I think, \u2018Gosh, what\u2019s their first night of fun going to be?\u2019 I can\u2019t even think about it. No.\u201d<\/p> Margolyes then reiterated her stance in a further interview with Australia\u2019s ABC News Breakfast<\/a>, saying that although the Potter series was a \u201cwonderful set of films\u201d, she felt that, \u201cIf your balls have dropped, then it\u2019s time to forget about it.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n But Cave \u2013 who played Lavender Brown in the films \u2013 said during an appearance at the Dream It Convention<\/a> in Paris that she did not agree with those remarks from the Professor Sprout star.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s such a shame that that happened,\u201d she said. \u201cYou know how she is \u2014 she\u2019s just a bit funny. And I think she didn\u2019t mean for it to be taken like that, I hope.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued: \u201cI really don\u2019t like that she said that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
