Netflix has released a first-look at the second season of Bridgerton<\/a>, the hit Regency-era romantic drama.<\/p>\n Inspired by Julia Quinn\u2019s series of Bridgerton novels<\/a>, season two shifts the focus onto Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), who swore off romance in the season one finale.<\/p>\n In the first-look clip released during TUDUM, Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) meets Anthony \u2013 and it\u2019s safe to say their interaction is\u2026 frosty.<\/p>\n Phoebe Dynevor will return to the role of Daphne in a supporting role. Meanwhile, Rupert Evans has joined the cast as Edmund Bridgerton<\/a> and Sex Education<\/a> star Simone Ashley will make her debut as Kate Sharma, Anthony\u2019s potential love interest.<\/p>\n The series, which originally debuted last Christmas, has received rave reviews from viewers and critics alike, including our five-star Bridgerton review<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n The newly-released clip follows the recent rumours that Duke of Hastings star Reg\u00e9-Jean Page may make a surprise appearance in the series after all.<\/p>\n Speaking to British GQ earlier in September, he refused to confirm or deny his absence. \u201cI couldn\u2019t possibly tell you!\u201d He added: \u201cIsn\u2019t there something wonderful about being surprised by what you weren\u2019t suspecting?\u201d<\/p>\n The first-look was released as part of Netflix event TUDUM<\/a>, the streamer\u2019s fan event broadcast on Netflix\u2019s YouTube channel<\/a>.<\/p> Bridgerton season two is based on The Viscount Who Loved Me<\/a>, the second book in the Bridgerton novel series, and focussing on the tale of the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Anthony.<\/p>\n Showrunner Van Dusen also teased season two, telling Deadline<\/a> that he\u2019s currently editing the first two episodes.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t think people are going to be ready,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s everything people love so much about the first season but more.\u201d<\/p>\n Looking for something else to watch?
