After Neville sailed off into the sunset, Ralf Little has opened up on the the reasons behind his exit. <\/p>

The BBC\u2019s long-running cosy drama favourite Death in Paradise<\/a> is set to enter another new chapter following Ralf Little\u2019s exit as DI Neville Parker<\/a> in the recent season 13 finale.<\/p>\n

While fans didn\u2019t get a conclusive answer to whether or not Neville and Florence\u2019s (Jos\u00e9phine Jobert) will-they-wont-they romance would finally take off, it was a pretty definite end to his story in Saint Marie as the pair, quite literally, sailed away.<\/p>\n

Speaking on BBC Breakfast this morning (Friday 5th April), Little opened up on the decision for his character to leave.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis last series was always going to be my last series,\u201d he explained. \u201cI had talks with the BBC, and with Red Planet, the production company and we all agreed that it just felt\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it was in my heart \u2013 like if it was just a heart decision \u2013 I\u2019d have wanted to do it for 20 more years,\u201d he added. \u201cBut just for the show, and for my character, Neville, it just sort of felt like his story deserved to be sort of finished and his journey deserved to be completed and he deserved a nice happy ending; and so it just felt right.\u201d<\/p>\n
