Beyond Paradise\u2019s Shipton Abbott<\/a> police station has been threatened with closure for some time now following a shift towards a centralised hub, which Kris Marshall (Humphrey Goodman) previously described as an \u201cexistential threat\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything is on a one-way track to being homogenised and centralised, and so that obviously removes the soul of community policing, which is something that\u2019s close to Humphrey\u2019s heart,\u201d he told RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n

\u201cAnd because of that, the station house, their mini, quirky station house, is directly under threat from being assimilated into the hub.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow that resolves itself, we\u2019ll just have to find out, but it\u2019s an ongoing thing.\u201d<\/p>

Alongside the question of whether the merger will go through, there\u2019s also doubt surrounding what that means for the employees of the town\u2019s police station. Namely: are their roles secure?<\/p>\n

\u201cYou honestly think they could get rid of one of us?\u201d asked a concerned Kelby (Dylan Llewellyn) <\/span>in the teaser for next week\u2019s episode.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

During an interview with RadioTimes.com<\/strong> and other press before season 2 arrived, Felicity Montagu, who plays Margo, said that she doesn\u2019t \u201c<\/span>think it would have occurred\u201d to her character that she could be the first to go \u201cif they moved\u201d.<\/p>\n

In Montagu\u2019s words, she believes herself to be \u201cthe central engine of that station\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n
