Playing Archie in the new film, Croft stars opposite Bridgerton<\/a>\u2018s Charithra Chandran as Amelia, and while the major film role itself is enough to leave anyone jittery with nerves, Croft admits that it was actually a specific format of filming that was most \u201cterrifying\u201d.<\/p>\n Chatting exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a> about the new movie, Croft admitted: \u201cI was very nervous about that [doing Fleabag style asides to camera].<\/p>\n \u201cI think that was probably the most exciting, but also most terrifying, bit of the film, because it\u2019s something I\u2019ve never done before.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd it\u2019s something that, if it\u2019s done right, it\u2019s great. But if it\u2019s done badly, it really feels jarring.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cSo, me and Alex [Pillai], the director, spent a lot of time talking about who is the character of the camera, who am I actually talking to, and I have my version of who it is in my head.<\/p>\n \u201cThen also, just with the shots \u2013 like, on the first few days, we tried a few different things and figured out that actually, like, being quite tight felt intimate.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd it felt much better than having [\u2026] like, we did a few that were wide, and it just, it felt weird. Then I started to get comfortable, and now probably when I\u2019m on set, I\u2019ll end up looking at the camera!\u201d<\/p> The Fleabag style of the film is just one notable feature of the romcom, which sees Croft\u2019s Archie living secretly in love with childhood friend Amelia.<\/p>\n But when new American student Billy Walsh (Cobra Kai<\/a>\u2019s Tanner Buchanan) comes along, Amelia is immediately smitten, thwarting Archie\u2019s attempts to reveal his true feelings to her.<\/p>\n Read more:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n As the official synopsis reads: \u201cArchie has always been there to fight Amelia\u2019s battles, laugh at her jokes, whilst constantly striving for her love and affection.
