Here’s everything you need to know about Race Across the World 2024 contestants Brydie and Sharon. <\/p>
Would you survive without some of your home comforts? That is something 10 contestants are about to find out in the new season of Race Across the World<\/a>.<\/p>\n Presented by John Hannah, Race Across the World follows five teams of two across 15,000 kilometres, as they try to travel across countries without the use of bank cards, the internet or smartphones.<\/p>\n This time, contestants are travelling across eastern Asia as part of their bid to win \u00a320,000.<\/p>\n Aiming to raise awareness of dyslexia are 25-year old Brydie and her mum, 52-year-old Sharon. Here\u2019s what we know about the contestants.<\/p>\n Relationship:\u00a0<\/b>Daughter and mother<\/p>\n From: <\/b>Kent<\/p>\n Jobs<\/b>: Snowboard instructor and cleaner, respectively<\/span><\/p>\n As mother and daughter, Brydie and Sharon \u201cshare everything\u201d. They\u2019re hoping that their close relationship will help them go far in the competition. \u201cWe\u2019re Yin and Yang,\u201d Brydie explained.<\/p>\n \u201cAll our friends and family have all said before that we should do Race Across the World. I think it\u2019s because we get on really well, and a lot of Mum\u2019s friends are a bit jealous that we get on so well, and a lot of my friends are jealous of how close me and Mum are,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cI tell my Mum things that my friends would not even dream of telling their Mum, or I can call my Mum in any situation.\u201d<\/p>\n For Brydie and Sharon, coming on this show was inevitable. \u201cI watched it with my family at home and Brydie was in Canada at the time, and then we went out to visit and we watched it together,\u201d Sharon said.<\/p>\n \u201cShe just looked at me and I looked at her and we thought \u2018we could do this\u2019, and so that\u2019s exactly how it happened.\u201d<\/p>\n Read More:<\/b><\/p>\n But don\u2019t ask them to name any capital cities.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know if I should confess this, but when we were told we were going to Tokyo, I thought that was a country in itself!\u201d she added.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, yes, I hope we don\u2019t come across really stupid. But it\u2019s all about education, everything\u2019s a learning curve.\u201d<\/p>\n Questionable geography aside, Brydie and Sharon say they\u2019re both good under pressure.<\/p>\n \u201cEvery day is pressure for us, so I feel like we\u2019ll cope, and it won\u2019t affect us too much,\u201d Brydie adds.<\/p>\n Race Across the World kicks off on Wednesday 10th April at 9pm on BBC One<\/strong>.
