In a new interview with Screen Rant<\/a>, the actor explained that the project was in development but \u201ccurrently, it\u2019s not\u201d and is \u201coff the table\u201d.<\/p>\n He shared: \u201cI hadn\u2019t really ever spoken about it, because it was in development. I didn\u2019t want it leaked out that it was being developed, and I didn\u2019t want the thing to happen where people kind of start theorising, getting either excited about it or hating the idea of it, when it may never happen. Because in development, you look at every angle, and you see whether it\u2019s worth it.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd currently, it\u2019s not. Currently, it\u2019s off the table, because we all couldn\u2019t find the right story to tell that we were all excited about enough. So, we decided to lay down tools with it for the time being. There may be a time in the future where we return to it, but at the moment, no. It\u2019s firmly on the shelf.\u201d<\/p>\n HBO has not commented on Harington\u2019s quotes so far.<\/p>\n In June 2022, Game of Thrones creator George RR Martin said the spin-off was in the works, with Harington having pitched the idea himself.<\/p>\n Confirming the project in a blog post titled SNOW\u2026and Other Stuff<\/a>, Martin said: \u201cYes, there is a Jon Snow show in development.
