Buckle up, dear reader – Lady Whistledown is ready to take over the Ton. <\/p>

It\u2019s been a long time coming \u2013 but after much teasing, first looks<\/a>, silent clips<\/a> and overall anticipation, Netflix has finally dropped the first proper Bridgerton<\/a> season 3 trailer.<\/p>\n

And, dearest gentle readers, it was well worth the wait.<\/p>\n

The upcoming season will focus on Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), whose long-standing friendship ended up on the rocks after Penelope overheard Colin telling his friends he would never court her last season.<\/p>\n

Words he\u2019ll rightly come to regret, judging by the trailer. Check it out below.<\/p>\n\n<p>Despite Colin\u2019s rather harsh words, he seems determined to redeem himself by helping Penelope go from wallflower to belle of the ball.<\/p>\n<p>Fans of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/Duke-Bridgerton-Family-Book\/dp\/B073SB7CMX\/?tag=radtim0b-21&ascsubtag=radiotimes-0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"sponsored noopener noreferrer\">Julia Quinn\u2019s novels<\/a> may already have an inkling of what\u2019s in store for the pair, but they\u2019re bound to be surprised too, particularly with the addition of a new romantic rival.<\/p>\n<p>Lord Debling, played by Sam Phillips, didn\u2019t feature in Romancing Mister Bridgerton \u2013 or any of the Bridgerton novels, for that matter. But the original character looks ready to sweep Penelope off her feet, and away from Colin\u2019s newfound feelings.<\/p> <p>Colin is not the only Bridgerton Penelope ended last season at odds with.
