Neil Gaiman may have Dead Boy Detectives<\/a> on the near horizon, but the series creator has also revealed some exciting details about the future of Good Omens<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking in an interview with Deadline<\/a> about post-strike Hollywood, Gaiman<\/a> reflected on his upcoming projects \u2013 and in the process, offered up a timeline for Good Omens season 3 production.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThat being said, you know,\u00a0Dead Boy Detectives\u00a0comes out in 10 days. I\u2019ve seen half of\u00a0Sandman season 2<\/a>, and it\u2019s astonishing. I\u2019m writing Good Omens season 3, and we start shooting that in January.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s right \u2013 Good Omens season 3 is being written, and filming is set to kick off in January 2025.<\/p>\n

While it may seem like a long while off for now, we\u2019re sure that the series\u2019s return will be more than worth the wait.<\/p>\n

The ending<\/a> of Good Omens season 2 saw Michael Sheen\u2019s angel Aziraphale and David Tennant\u2019s demon Crowley going their separate ways. But that won\u2019t be the end of the story for this pair.<\/p>\n

On the ending of the series, Gaiman previously hinted at what\u2019s to come in the third season, and said: \u201cI\u2019m so happy finally to be able to finish the story Terry [Pratchett, co-author] and I plotted in 1989 and in 2006.<\/p>\n

\u201cTerry was determined that if we made Good Omens for television, we could take the story all the way to the end. Season 1 was all about averting armageddon, dangerous prophecies, and the end of the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeason 2 was sweet and gentle, although it may have ended less joyfully than a certain angel and demon might have hoped.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, revealing more about season 3: \u201cNow, in season 3, we will deal once more with the end of the world. The plans for armageddon are going wrong. Only Crowley and Aziraphale working together can hope to put it right. And they aren\u2019t talking.\u201d<\/p>

While Gaiman has a slew of anticipated projects coming up in the near future, his Deadline interview also underlines the changing landscape of television and streaming.He told Deadline: \u201cI\u2019m definitely feeling that, OK, the ship is still sailing. But the boom is over. I think the boom would have been over anyway.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like the strike, you know, our strike and the actors\u2019 strike in a lot of cases became an excuse for the streamers in particular to just go, \u2018Oh, we actually bought more than we will ever need. And maybe we can let some of the stuff go.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd maybe we can, you know\u2026 so I think that happened as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re trying to reinvent television right now. And I don\u2019t know what it\u2019s gonna be like five years from now.\u201d<\/p>\n
