2020\u2019s Hades was game of the year for so many, and it\u2019s clear why.<\/p>\n
The rogue-like game did something quite different with its combination of Greek myths, procedurally generated and slow-burn story, and character development. It also looked fantastic, and had a talented voice cast to boot.<\/p>\n
Recently, it even made its way onto Netflix games<\/a>, and has managed to reach a new audience of players four years on.<\/p>\n The sequel, which was announced at 2022\u2019s Game Awards ceremony, has had fans eagerly anticipating the return of Hades \u2013 and if it\u2019s anything like its predecessor, it\u2019ll be superb.<\/p>\n So, what do we know about Hades II? For a start, it\u2019s developer Supergiant Games\u2019s first ever sequel. It\u2019s still early days, but we\u2019re going to share everything we know below.<\/p>\n Unsurprisingly, there isn\u2019t a solid release date for Hades II just yet<\/strong>. However, apparently development began in 2021, and an early access period will begin later in 2024.<\/p>\n Although, Supergiant Games has just announced that a technical test for the game is now available to sign up for.<\/p>\n It will sample a small number of players and will only offer limited access to the game, but it will help the developer ensure it runs smoothly for when the early access period begins later in the year.<\/p>\n Signing up to the Hades II technical test is easy, and can be done by clicking \u2018request access\u2019 on the game\u2019s official Steam page<\/a>.<\/p>\n Hopeful testers can find out more information on signing up on Supergiant Games\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p> In such early days, there is no option to pre-order<\/strong> \u2013 but we\u2019ll update this page as soon as anything changes! Or rather, it was eventually.<\/p>\n Supergiant Games has announced that Hades II will be released on PC and consoles<\/strong> \u2013 but didn\u2019t specify the consoles. We assume PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X\/S \u2013 but who knows about the Switch and previous-gen consoles?<\/p>\n Again, we\u2019ll update this page as soon as we know any different!<\/p>\n No Zagreus this time. Hades II\u2019s protagonist is Melino\u00eb, Zagreus\u2019s sister and princess of the underworld.<\/p>\n It looks like we\u2019ll be controlling her in her quest to defeat the time fiend Chronos. We don\u2019t know much more, but we can\u2019t wait to kill some time with her (not sorry).<\/p>\n The gameplay looks to be very similar to the first.
