The fifth season of the show has now been greenlit by the streamer, and will be filmed back-to-back with season 4<\/a>, which is officially now in production.<\/p>\n But that\u2019s not all \u2013 we now have our first look at Liam Hemsworth in the role of Geralt of Rivia.<\/p>\n Well, not\u00a0exactly<\/em>, but Netflix has treated us to a series of behind-the-scenes images of the exciting table read.<\/p>\n As well as seeing Hemsworth and others in action, the photos also tease a first look at The Matrix<\/a> star Laurence Fishburne<\/a>, who has joined the cast as Regis.<\/p>\n He can be seen having in his image having a conversation with Linden Porco, who returns as Percival Schuttenbach.<\/p>\n The fourth and fifth seasons of The Witcher will adapt the remaining Andrzej Sapkowski novels<\/a> on which the series and games are based.<\/p>\n The remaining books left to adapt for the screen include\u00a0Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow and Lady of the Lake.<\/p>\n Three novels into two seasons may sound like a bit of a mission, but the streamer has promised \u201cto offer an epic and satisfying conclusion to Netflix\u2019s hit fantasy drama\u201d.<\/p>\n On the exciting announcement, showrunner and series creator\u00a0Lauren Schmidt Hissrich says: \u201c<\/b><\/span>It is with huge pride that we begin shooting our penultimate season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski\u2019s books to an epic and satisfying conclusion.
