Filming is getting under way imminently on the beloved period drama. <\/p>

Filming is set to get under way imminently on the next run of Call the Midwife<\/a> \u2013 with star Helen George teasing on Instagram that \u201cseries 14 awaits\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Trixie star made the comments while sharing a post<\/a> from Hair and Makeup Artist Mariella Spoto to her story, in which it was revealed that Spoto was \u201ca busy bee in prep for the next series of Call the Midwife\u201d.<\/p>\n

That tallies with earlier quotes from star Georgie Glen (Miss Higgins<\/a>), who previously told RadioTimes.com<\/a> that filming would begin at the end of April<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo know we\u2019re all going to reunite again, it\u2019s lovely,\u201d she explained at the time. \u201cAnd there were a few cliffhangers at the end of the episode, various other storylines, and who knows where they\u2019re going to go.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, one of the storylines at the end of last season saw Trixie deciding to follow Matthew<\/a> to New York, so it will be interesting to see how that plays out given we know she will still be starring in the next run.<\/p>

Meanwhile, we can also expect the return of a number of other regular faces, including Stephen McGann as Dr Patrick Turner, Laura Main as Shelagh Turner and Jenny Agutter as Sister Julienne among many others.<\/p>\n

New seasons of Call the Midwife typically air at the beginning of each year \u2013 starting with the traditional Christmas special, of course \u2013 and it seems likely that this will be the case once again for season 14.<\/p>\n

The beloved period drama was renewed for both season 14 and 15<\/a> in February last year, meaning we can expect to see it continue on BBC One until 2026 at the earliest, with the series showing no signs of dwindling in popularity.<\/p>\n

At the time of that double renewal, creator Heidi Thomas said: \u201cCall the Midwife is the pride and joy of all who work on it, but it\u2019s our fantastic, loyal audience that matters most.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are a family behind the scenes, on the screen, and in front of the telly, and I\u2019m thrilled that we\u2019re all heading into the 1970\u2019s together.\u201d<\/p>\n
