Movie fans might be gearing up for Ishana Shyamalan to make her directorial debut this summer in The Watchers, but her father, M Night Shyamalan<\/a>, also has a 2024 film on the way, titled Trap.<\/span><\/p>\n

And now the first trailer has been released, showing Josh Hartnett<\/a> in action as a father who takes his teenage daughter (Ariel Donoghue) to the concert of a pop singer, only to realise that the entire event has been set up in a bid to catch a known serial killer.<\/span><\/p>\n

The killer in question? Well, it\u2019s him: a fact unbeknownst to his daughter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shyamalan is famous for his epic twists and turns, usually at the end of his movies as opposed to in his trailers, so presumably there\u2019ll be plenty more surprises in store.<\/span><\/p>\n

The writer-director previously revealed he came up with the film two years ago, after experiencing what life as a recording artist was like for his eldest daughter Saleka, who is signed to Columbia Records.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes, culture moves in your direction, and sometimes it doesn\u2019t,\u201d he told <\/span>IndieWire<\/span><\/a>. \u201cIn this case, the culture of concerts is crazy now. Taylor [Swift] and Beyonc\u00e9 \u2014 it\u2019s just such a thing in culture. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I do think gathering together is so precious to us now. Maybe we took it for granted before our phones and COVID and all that stuff. It\u2019s wonderful that the culture moved toward this idea.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
