Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos announced the news during the streamer\u2019s first-quarter earnings call on Wednesday (17th April), as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Sarandos teased a host of returning and new series arriving in the last six months of the year, one of which is<\/span>\u00a0Squid Game<\/a>, which was renewed for a second season back in June 2022 after its massively popular 2021 debut, which broke records for the streamer.<\/span><\/p>\n The Night Agent season 2<\/a>, Cobra Kai season 6<\/a>, Outer Banks season 4<\/a>, Emily in Paris season 4<\/a> and season 2 of Ryan Murphy\u2019s Monster anthology series<\/a> are also among those which will be back on our screens before the year is out.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n And the streamer announced a number of new series set to arrive this year, i<\/span>ncluding <\/span>Peter Berg\u2019s western drama American Primeval and an adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand\u2019s popular novel The Perfect Couple, starring Nicole Kidman.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Specific release dates for these shows are yet to be announced, but Sarandos said viewers can expect them \u201csometime in 2024\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n Back in January, Netflix confirmed that Squid Game season 2 would be <\/span>released at some point this year<\/span><\/a>, before unveiling some intriguing first-look footage<\/a>\u00a0the following month.<\/span><\/p>\n Ahead of season 2\u2019s official confirmation, Squid Game writer and director Hwang Dong-hyuk also spoke to RadioTimes.com<\/a> about how he would progress the story<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI do realise there are huge expectations for season 2,\u201d he admitted. \u201cI keep asking myself whether I can make it better than season 1. I do not want people to get disappointed over the new season.<\/span><\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cIf I ever make season 2, I will try to look up those many ideas, and of course if there are any good ones, I can bring them into the story. Since I prefer writing alone, maybe all these ideas on YouTube can function as my writer\u2019s room.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He added: \u201cOr maybe I can even ask the fans on social media to give ideas.
