Richard Osman has confirmed a star-studded cast for the upcoming film adaptation of his novel The Thursday Murder Club<\/a> \u2013 with Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan and Ben Kingsley all set for key roles.<\/p>\n The presenter-turned-novelist revealed the news on his podcast The Rest Is Entertainment with Marina Hyde this morning (Tuesday 23rd April), having previously teased on X<\/a> (formerly Twitter) last week that the cast was \u201cinsanely great\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m now allowed to officially announce three of the four members of The Thursday Murder Club, anyway,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, Elizabeth is going to be played by the person who people most often shout at me in the street as them wanting to play Elizabeth\u2026 Elizabeth is going to be played by Helen Mirren, which is very exciting.\u201d<\/p> He added that the role of Joyce would likely also be played by a star who many have suggested, but said that negotiations were still ongoing and so he couldn\u2019t reveal anything yet.<\/p>\n But he continued that Ibrahim would be played by Sir Ben Kingsley and that Ron \u2013 who he described as a \u201cleft-wing bruiser, ex-trade union official\u201d \u2013 will be played by Brosnan, calling the former James Bond star \u201cthe most handsome man in the world\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cSo Mirren, Kingsley and Brosnan,\u201d he concluded. \u201cWe\u2019re filming this summer, filming from the end of June through to September, all in England.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n
