Harris said the Venom star would be her personal choice \u2013\u00a0but conceded it was unlikely. <\/p>

Of all the big names linked to the soon-to-be-vacant James Bond role, one of the most prominent is Tom Hardy, and one No Time To Die<\/a> star reckons he\u2019d make for a \u201cgreat\u201d 007.<\/p>\n

Eve Moneypenny star Naomie Harris made the comments while appearing on Lorraine this morning (Tuesday 28th September) \u2013 but she added that the Venom star was probably an unlikely choice.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe would make a great Bond, but interestingly they always choose someone who we don\u2019t expect and someone who\u2019s more up and coming,\u201d she said after Lorraine Kelly had explained that Hardy was her preference.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I feel like Tom might be too established. I think like all the names that are being bandied around actually I think it\u2019s going to be someone so unexpected and their name isn\u2019t even in the mix.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cI\u2019m sure they\u2019re already working on it. The hilarious thing is people think I know. Like, I don\u2019t know anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I do think that Tom would be amazing and if I was choosing, I would choose Tom.\u201d<\/p>

Hardy is one of many names to have been persistently linked with the role over the last few years \u2013 with the likes of Idris Elba, James Norton and Sam Heughan also said to be in the conversation.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Bridgerton star Rege-Jean Page has recently emerged as one of the bookmakers\u2019 favourites and there is some talk that franchise newcomer Lashana Lynch could make the 007 position her own in future films.<\/p>\n

But despite all of the rumours, producer Barbara Broccoli revealed earlier this week that discussions about Craig\u2019s replacement won\u2019t actually get underway until 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not thinking about it at all,\u201d Broccoli told BBC Radio 4. \u201cWe want Daniel to have his time of celebration. Next year we\u2019ll start thinking about the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
