Richard Madeley has revealed that ITV News presenter Rageh Omaar \u201cshould be back on our screens soon\u201d after he took ill during Friday night\u2019s broadcast<\/a> of ITV News at Ten.<\/p>\n The broadcaster made the comments during this morning\u2019s (Monday 29th April) episode of Good Morning Britain after reading the day\u2019s news headlines, explaining that: \u201cApparently he\u2019s making a good recovery at home.\u201d<\/p>\n Madeley\u2019s co-host Susanna Reid also said during the broadcast that \u201cwe wish him all the very best\u201d.<\/p>\n ITV declined to comment further on the matter when approached by RadioTimes.com<\/a>, but the news comes after Omaar released a statement<\/a> on Saturday in which he thanked everyone for their \u201ckindness and good wishes\u201d.<\/p>\n He added: \u201cAt the time, I was determined to finish presenting the programme. I am grateful for all the support I\u2019ve been given.\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile, ITV\u2019s own statement on Saturday read: \u201cWe appreciate viewers of last night\u2019s News at Ten were concerned about Rageh Omaar\u2019s wellbeing. Following medical treatment at hospital, he is now recovering at home with his family.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are wishing Rageh a speedy recovery and look forward to him being back on screen when he feels ready.\u201d<\/p>\n Omaar appeared to be struggling to read the bulletins while presenting the programme on Friday, with viewers quickly sharing their concerns for his wellbeing and their well wishes on social media.<\/p>\n Among those to send their wishes were several of his ITV colleagues, with Good Morning Britain newsreader Marverine Cole posting on X (formerly Twitter): \u201cWishing @ragehomaar all the very best after being taken ill last night. Get well soon xx\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile, ITV News colleague Chris Ship wrote: \u201cWishing our friend and colleague @ragehomaar a fast recovery. All his friends at @itvnews are thinking about him. And can I praise the @Ldn_Ambulance paramedics who were quite simply amazing. Thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n Channel 4 News journalist Ayshah Tull added in a post: \u201cWishing the amazingly kind and wonderful journalist @ragehomaar a speedy recovery and sending my love to his family at what was a very worrying time for them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n After the programme was first broadcast on Friday, it was subsequently pulled from airing on ITV\u2019s +1 channel, with viewers instead seeing a message reading: \u201cWe\u2019ll be back soon. We\u2019re temporarily unable to bring you our +1 service.
