As one of the three Team Rocket Leaders in Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/a>, you\u2019ll need some powerful Pok\u00e9mon in your team to defeat the difficult boss battle.<\/p>\n

Like the other Team Go Rocket Leaders, you will need to take out some grunts to assemble the Rocket Radar if you want to track him down \u2013 and when you do, he will be ready to unleash some tough Pok\u00e9mon<\/a> to stop you from winning.<\/p>\n

The trouble is, Cliff\u2019s list of strong Pok\u00e9mon tends to change every month \u2013 to keep us on our toes, we guess!<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how to defeat Cliff in Pok\u00e9mon Go as of May 2024, and the best counters against the Team Rocket Leader.<\/p>\n

Best Cliff counters for Pok\u00e9mon Go in May 2024<\/strong><\/h2>\n

One of the things that makes Cliff tricky is the fact that there are six potential Pok\u00e9mon he could throw at you.<\/p>\n

The battle will last for three rounds, and the only one you can guarantee is the first one \u2013 he\u2019ll always start off with Machop, but the other two rounds have multiple options each.<\/p>\n

You need to prepared for each of the Pok\u00e9mon that Cliff could send out in the second or third round of your battle, making sure you\u2019ve got a decent counter in your back pocket for each of them. At a glance, then, this is what you need to know.<\/p>

First round:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Shadow Machop<\/strong> (a Fighting-type Pok\u00e9mon, weak against Flying, Fairy and Psychic-type moves)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        A strong Fairy-type<\/strong> Pok\u00e9mon will do well against many of the Pok\u00e9mon Cliff can use. As would a Flying-type <\/strong>and Psychic-type<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

        It\u2019s also worth noting that you can re-pick your team after losing to Cliff once, by opting for a rematch at the same location, which should mean that Cliff makes the same picks again \u2013 but you\u2019ll know who you\u2019re up against, so you can make your own picks more wisely.
