The 007 star’s final outing as Bond premieres tomorrow in the UK. <\/p>
Daniel Craig has dashed fans\u2019 hopes that he\u2019ll return to the role of Bond later in life after confirming that he won\u2019t be making a Sean Connery-style comeback.<\/p>\n
The British actor, who has played James Bond since 2008, announced in 2019 that the latest film in the franchise No Time To Die<\/a> would be his last in the role.<\/p>\n When asked at the No Time To Die premiere last year whether he would \u201cdo a Sean Connery\u201d and return to James Bond later on his career, Craig told Australia\u2019s Nine News: \u201cNope, definitely not.\u201d<\/p> Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, No Time To Die was originally scheduled for an April 2020 release, however due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the film was delayed multiple times.<\/p>\n Speaking to Sky News<\/a>, Craig said that he was \u201cgreatly relieved\u201d that the new Bond film was finally making it to the cinemas.<\/p>\n \u201cI am greatly relieved: we make Bond movies for the cinema and we\u2019re here and I couldn\u2019t be happier about that.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s just been a long journey we\u2019ve all had a pretty terrible couple of years,\u201d he later told ITV News<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s mixed emotions but I just want to celebrate tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n As for who\u2019ll be replacing Craig in the next stage of the franchise, Bond producer Barbara Broccoli announced yesterday that the hunt for a new 007 won\u2019t begin until 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re not thinking about it at all,\u201d she told BBC Radio 4. \u201cWe want Daniel to have this time of celebration.
