Star Wars marked May 4th in true style for fans, dropping a new trailer for the anticipated series The Acolyte<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While we first got a first trailer<\/a> for the mystery thriller just last month, this new trailer offers up a closer look at a mysterious new Sith Lord. The trailer opens up with the stark statement that a Jedi was murdered last night and how the Jedi are fighting to stop the darkness around them.<\/p>\n

We get a closer look into the back story of Jedi Master Sol (played by Squid Game<\/a>\u2018s Lee Jung-jae) and a young warrior from his past, Mae (Amandla Stenberg), who he trained up many years before.<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s unclear whether Mae is the titular Acolyte at this point or perhaps the killer at the centre of the mystery, it\u2019s clear she\u2019s harbouring a lot of distrust and resentment for her former mentor.<\/p>\n

Rebecca Henderson\u2019s Vernestra Rwoh also says that she senses that this is only a small part of a larger plan and describes it as \u201csome sort of shift to tip the scales\u201d.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s in the trailer\u2019s final moments that the drama really takes a turn as we finally get a proper look at a new Sith Lord, who signals a new point in the Star Wars timeline of events.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat are you?\u201d Master Sol asks as they come face-to-face in a dark forest before the Sith Lord simply raises his red lightsaber. Watch the trailer for yourself below.<\/p>\n
