The BAFTA Television Awards 2024 will feature a special dance theatre performance of Peaky Blinders: The Redemption of Thomas Shelby, it has been revealed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Rambert stage production, which debuted in 2022 and has toured the UK, was developed by the company\u2019s artistic director Benoit Swan Pouffer alongside the TV show\u2019s creator Steven Knight.<\/span><\/p>\n

The prequel-style show, which was also filmed for television<\/a>, follows the character of patriarch Thomas Shelby \u2013 originally portrayed by Cillian Murphy in the BBC drama \u2013\u00a0and the Shelby family in post-war industrial Birmingham.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking about how the dance event is different to the television show, Knight previously told Radio Times<\/strong> magazine: \u201cThis is very much Tommy and Grace. It\u2019s their love story.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The nominations for the BAFTA Television Awards 2024<\/a> were announced back in March, with <\/span>The Crown<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Black Mirror<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Happy Valley<\/span><\/a> leading the way.<\/span><\/p>\n

The awards celebrate the finest small screen work across all genres, including hit dramas The Gold and Happy Valley<\/a>, international series The Bear and Beef, and f<\/span>actual entertainment programmes Celebrity Race Across the World<\/a> and The Dog House.<\/span><\/p>\n

Comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan will return to host the glamorous ceremony following their turn last year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beckett said: \u201cRomesh and I are absolutely buzzing to be back hosting the BAFTAs. We\u2019ve not seen or spoken to each other since last year when we hosted so it will be good to catch up.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a real privilege to continually get work together even though our friendship is fake and completely fabricated for commercial gain.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Ranganathan added: \u201cI really thought I\u2019d done enough last year to be asked to host it solo this time, but hosting it with Rob again is also an honour, I suppose.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

The BAFTA TV Awards <\/strong>with P&O Cruises <\/strong>air on BBC One and iPlayer on Sunday 12th May 2024.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
