The third episode of the new season marks the return of former Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat<\/a> on writing duties for Boom<\/a>.<\/p>\n While we\u2019ve already seen a sneak peek<\/a> of what the episode could entail, we now have a confirmed cast list too.<\/p>\n Joining Gatwa and Millie Gibson in the episode is Joe Anderson<\/strong> who will be starring as John Francis Vater in Boom.<\/p>\n While we don\u2019t have any details just yet about the character, Anderson is known for his role as Mason Verger in Hannibal<\/a>, a role he took over from Michael Pitt in the third season of the horror-thriller TV series.<\/p>\n Anderson is also known for his roles in Outsiders as well as films including The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn \u2013 Part 2 and The Reckoning.<\/p>\n But it\u2019s another character reveal that has notched up excitement for Boom even further and got fans speculating in a major way. The cast list reveals that Susan Twist<\/a> will be returning to Doctor Who, but this time simply listed as \u2018Ambulance\u2019.<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t the first time that Twist has been on our screens in the sci-fi series, having previously popped up in Wild Blue Yonder<\/a> as Mrs Merridew, and also appearing at a concert in The Church on Ruby Road<\/a>.<\/p>\n But that\u2019s not all \u2013 Twist is also set to appear in the brand new second episode of Doctor Who, The Devil\u2019s Chord. In that musical episode, she has simply been credited as \u2018Tea Lady\u2019.<\/p> Of course, nothing has been confirmed just yet about Twist\u2019s recurring appearances in the series, nor her role in the upcoming Boom episode.<\/p>\n But being credited as Ambulance has certainly left some fans on social media tickled by the prospect of the actress being a literal vehicle \u2013 or, perhaps, something a lot more sinister.<\/p>\n Read more:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n As for the episode itself, Moffat has referred to the concept for the episode as \u201cdynamite<\/a>\u201c, also revealing that he \u201cpitched several ideas\u201d to Russell T Davies before he responded to the idea for Boom by saying: \u201cThat\u2019s it, go write that, I want that immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n Moffat said: \u201cIt\u2019s a collaboration of enthusiasm.
