The popular actors star together in the upcoming Disney Plus series \u2013\u00a0which also boasts Danny Dyer, Alex Hassell and Katherine Parkinson. <\/p>
The prospect of Aidan Turner and David Tennant starring together in upcoming drama Rivals<\/a> is one that has a lot of TV fans very excited \u2013 and Turner has revealed that working with the former Doctor Who<\/a> star was \u201ca lot of fun\u201d.<\/p>\n Speaking exclusively with RadioTimes.com<\/a> on the red carpet at the BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises, Turner teased a little bit about what fans can expect from the new show, which is based on the novel of the same name by Jilly Cooper.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a lot of fun,\u201d Turner said. \u201cI went to a screening last week [and] people loved it. It\u2019s bold and it\u2019s naughty and it\u2019s a lot of fun.\u201d<\/p>\n Asked specifically about working with Tennant, he added, \u201cIt was great, David\u2019s brilliant \u2013 he\u2019s a real pro. It\u2019s, like, one of the funniest shows around right now.\u201d<\/p>\n And he concluded: \u201cI think people are really going to enjoy it.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n In addition to Tennant, Turner, Dyer and Rushbrook, the cast for the eight-parter also includes The Boys<\/a>\u2018 Alex Hassell, The IT Crowd\u2019s Katherine Parkinson and Sex Education\u2019s Bella Maclean, in addition to roles for Nafessa Williams, Emily Atack, Catriona Chandler, Oliver Chris, Rufus Jones, Lisa McGrillis, Luke Pasqualino and Victoria Smurfit.<\/p> Rivals is set during the 1980s in the fictional county of Rutshire, where a tense rivalry between Rupert (Hassell) and Lord Tony (Tennant) starts to come to a head, with TV presenter and journalist Declan O\u2019Hara (Turner) caught in the crossfire of their drama.<\/p>\n Last week, some first-look images<\/a> of the series were released, introducing several of the characters and further ramping up the excitement for fans desperate to see the show \u2013 which is expected to arrive on Disney Plus<\/a> in mid-to-late 2024.<\/p>\n\n
