Moffat\u2019s episode is called Boom<\/a>, and it will see the Doctor trapped when he steps on a landmine in the middle of a battlefield. He will then spend the rest of the episode stuck, trying to save both himself and Ruby without moving.<\/p>\n Now, while speaking on The Official Doctor Who Podcast<\/a> for episodes 1 and 2, Space Babies and The Devil\u2019s Chord, showrunner Russell T Davies has teased what fans can expect from the episode, and offered up a hints towards the wider plot and supporting characters.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re on war-torn planet, Kastarion 3,\u201d he explained. \u201cIt\u2019s bleak, it\u2019s scary, it\u2019s muddy, it\u2019s foggy, it\u2019s dangerous, and that throws Ncuti\u2019s Doctor into the most extraordinary situation in which both he and Ruby have to act at the height of their powers and use all their wits to escape from this.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s a great supporting cast and there\u2019s a great supporting character called Splice, and one thing I would say in this story is be very careful about saying Splice\u2019s father\u2019s name out loud.\u201d<\/p>\n Splice is being played in the episode by Caoilinn Springall, who has previously had roles in The Midnight Sky, Citadel and Stopmotion \u2013 however, beyond that we know very little about the character or how Davies\u2019s warning will play out.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n Davies previously hyped up Moffat\u2019s new episode<\/a> at a recent Q&A, telling that \u201cpeople will be talking about that for years to come\u201d.<\/p>\n He explained: \u201cAt the very start of that, the Doctor stands on a landmine and can\u2019t move for the entire episode \u2013 that is absolutely a masterpiece of performance from [Ncuti and Millie], and in terms of tension, it\u2019s just incredible.\u201d<\/p> Meanwhile, Moffat himself has said that he thought the concept for the episode was \u201cdynamite<\/a>\u201c, adding that Davies emailed him back after he pitched it saying \u201cthat\u2019s it, go write that, I want that immediately\u201d.<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cIt\u2019s a collaboration of enthusiasm\u2026 what we\u2019re doing is giggling and laughing and shouting and bounding around the room about how clever and exciting all this is.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you\u2019re not doing that on a show like Doctor Who \u2013 or, frankly, any show \u2013 what\u2019s the point?\u201d<\/p>\n![\"Ncuti](\"https:\/\/images.immediate.co.uk\/production\/volatile\/sites\/3\/2024\/05\/477199-2f4db23-e1715524846239.jpg?quality=90&resize=620%2C413\" "\\"Ncuti")
